The center, owned and operated by Macerich, also remodeled locations for Sephora, Adidas and Windsor. Adidas reopened with updates including Originals and Badge of Sport collections and City Shop products tailored to the New York market.
Additional retail renovations are underway at Garage and JD Sports, which mall leadership hopes will enhance the shopping experience and reflect its ongoing investment in its retail offering.
These new arrivals follow the center’s recent openings of Dave’s Hot Chicken in January and Crispy Burger in July.
With over five decades of operation, Queens Center continues to transform the space and create a destination that brings together leading brands, local favorites and experiences that reflect the interests of today’s shoppers — especially younger generations.
“Queens Center has long been a part of the local community,” said Jamie Bourbeau, senior vice president of leasing at Macerich. “Over the past 50-plus years, our focus has always been on evolving alongside the shoppers we serve. We’re seeing that continue today as new retailers and concepts join the center, adding to an already strong lineup of brands. It’s a reflection of the role Queens Center plays as one of the borough’s most important shopping destinations.”
With over 12 million annual visitors and an average 78-minute dwell time, Queens Center draws shoppers from across the region.
The center aims to incorporate new concepts into its tenant mix, as reflected in its opening of Soft Swerve, an Asian-inspired soft serve ice cream shop. The new location is the brand’s first outlet and kiosk style operation within a modern American mall, driving notable traffic its opening weekend with 759 total transactions Friday to Sunday.
A key focus for Queens Center’s owner and operator, Macerich, has been strategically attracting the Gen Z demographic across its portfolio. Mall leadership explained that by curating a retail and cultural retail roster that resonates with their values, interests and shopping behaviors, Queens Center is able to capture the attention of younger consumers who are seeking the latest viral trends in person.
The center’s momentum comes as in-person shopping displays strength across the retail market. In the second quarter of 2026, Macerich reported company-record portfolio-wide sales of $919 per square foot, with sales reaching $954 per square foot across its go-forward portfolio and a go-forward occupancy that reached 95.5%.
Queens Center is one of three Macerich-owned New York retail centers, including Green Acres and Kings Plaza. For more information on these locations and the Macerich properties throughout the U.S., visit Macerich.com/Leasing.
