Around 200 people attended the July 3 event in Elmhurst, which featured a DJ, face painters, balloon artists and American themed giveaways of items including sunglasses, American Flags and America’s 250th tattoos.
The highlight of the event, however, was a high-energy magic performance by Magic of Amore complete with a gravity-defying levitation illusion.

Even Chick-Fil-A joined the fun and brought out their mascot — a cow wearing a sign that pleads with guests to “Eat more chikin” — who gave away branded cups, beverages and chip and dip samples.
“Creating a sense of community has always been at the heart of Queens Center,” said Dawn Simon, senior manager of marketing at the Queens Center. “Events like this allow us to welcome our guests in a unique way and provide shared experiences that bring people together, celebrate special moments and strengthen our connection with the neighborhood we serve.”
