Work progressing on seven construction projects across Elmhurst

Excavation work is in progress at 78-07 51st Ave., where a 5-story school will be built. The school will be 74 feet tall and span 49,058 square feet. Building applications were submitted for this site by Liberty One Construction LLC in September 2024. The applications list IMC Architecture as the architect of record. Renderings have not yet been unveiled for the school at this site, but there are no plans to include yard space or recreation space on the rooftop. There is no estimated completion date for construction as of September 2026.

The site of a new religious structure for the Bethel International Church currently has excavators and piling machines digging up 79-06 51st Ave. The planned building will have a symmetrical brick fenestration and a set of tall geometric windows framed by the roofline. Additionally, the central window will have a giant outline of the Holy Cross. Construction of the church is expected to be completed in the summer of 2027.

Construction recently wrapped up on a 7-story mixed-use building with 53 rental units at 83-07 Queens Blvd. The structure is 70 feet tall and spans 49,134 square feet of space, including 39,137 square feet of residential space, 9,097 square feet of commercial space and 900 square feet of community facility space. The rentals have an average unit scope of 738 square feet. Other features of the property include a cellar, a rear yard 30 feet in length and 27 enclosed parking spaces. Another property where construction recently finished is 85-15 Grand Ave. A 4-story mixed-use building with ten rental units now stands there. The structure is 40 feet tall and yields 7,373 square feet of residential space and 1,595 square feet of commercial space. The property also features a cellar. The ten housing units have an average unit scope of 737 square feet. ABC Engineering PLLC designed the building and Xin Lin of 8515 Grand Realty LLC developed it.

Construction is almost done on a 7-story mixed-use building with 34 rental apartments at 83-12 Broadway. The completed structure will be 72 feet tall and span 25,984 square feet of space, including 21,288 square feet of residential space and 4,696 square feet of commercial space. The housing units will have an average unit scope of 610 square feet. Amenities for residents will include a laundry room and a rooftop deck. This building, which was also designed by ABC Engineering PLLC and is being developed by NY B&B Property LLC, is expected to be fully constructed by the end of 2026.

Topping out just took place for a 7-story condominium spanning 7,667 square feet with 27 units at 86-50 Dongan Ave. The building’s architect, amenities and interior renderings have not yet been made public. The structure is currently covered in netting and metal scaffolding, with the metal frame studs and insulation boards being assembled around the perimeter. The exterior facade is expected to comprise red brickwork and white walls around the parapets and the central portion of the northern elevation, along with a grid of windows and balconies. This new building is on track to be finished in the second half of 2027.

A new 5-story fire station recently topped out at 86-53 Grand Ave. The 69-foot-tall structure will cover 18,128 square feet of community facility space and house FDNY Engine 287/Ladder 136/Battalion 46. While a cellar is planned for the building, there will not be accessory parking. The building, which was designed by Ronnette Riley Architect, is on track to be finished in the winter of 2027.
