Community leaders, designers, cultural partners, local elected officials, sponsors and more gathered at the Queens Center for a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Queens Borough President’s Office to kick off the event, which was organized by the BK Style Foundation.

“Fashion Week Queens promises to be a wonderful way of celebrating all that makes the World’s Borough unique, which is our diversity and our community,” Queens Borough President Donovan Richards said. “We welcome all who want to be a part of our community to make it better, whether it’s through fashion or any other form of art.”

Fashion Week Queens is dedicated to celebrating the borough’s rich diversity, creativity and community spirit.

The week-long celebration aims to provide a platform in which fashion, culture, business and community converge to celebrate the unique identity of Queens and inspire future generations.

Fashion Week Queens continued with a runway showcase on Saturday, July 18, at Queens Borough Hall. This showcase featured collections from six to seven designers.

The works shown off represented the creativity, innovation and cultural influences of Queens, reflecting its status as one of the world’s most dynamic fashion communities.

Through this celebration, fashion and creative expression are being used to unite neighborhoods, cultures, businesses, artists and community organizations.

“Our vision is to create a platform that truly reflects Queens—its diversity, resilience, entrepreneurial spirit and creative excellence,” Fashion Week Queens Co-founder Rick Davy said. “This is about recognizing the people, cultures and communities that have shaped Queens and creating opportunities for emerging talent to be seen, celebrated and connected.”

“Fashion Week Queens is an opportunity to build something lasting for the borough,” Fashion Week Queens Co-founder Jack Mapira said. “Through collaboration, inclusion and community engagement, we can establish a platform that showcases Queens to the world.”
