The letter, addressed to NYSLA Chair Lily M. Fan and Sheriff Anthony Miranda, further details a sustained pattern of disorderly violence at the venue, located at 79-51 Albion Ave. The pattern includes “multiple shootings, a prior homicide, robbery, and dozens of emergency calls and complaints over the past several years,” as confirmed in a press release. It also asserts reports from residents and businesses of “drug activity, gang-related disputes, and turf conflicts occurring in and around the premises” — all of which have occurred more than once.
Regarding Amadeus Nightclub, QNS has reported on incidents at the location over the past decade. On Sunday, April 26, the NYPD responded to a call of four individuals shot inside the Elmhurst venue at approximately 3:39 a.m. The following injuries were detailed in the story: a 28-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the face, another 28-year-old man sustained a graze head wound, a 25-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen and arm and a 24-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to the arm.
Moreover, QNS reported a gunfire incident in 2025 that occurred “just before 4 a.m.” on May 18. All three victims sustained gunshot wounds. In 2023, a past shooting at the nightclub resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man and an injury sustained by a 31-year-old woman “at approximately 4 a.m.” on January 21. A separate 2019 assault on two women occurred on June 22 by an off-duty corrections officer. Another 2017 assault that involved a slashing incident occurred on December 17.
“Given the frequency and severity of incidents tied to this location, the current conditions are clearly untenable,” wrote the Council Members in the joint letter. “At a minimum, this establishment warrants immediate enforcement action, including suspension of its liquor license and coordinated inspection activity across relevant agencies.”

As further confirmed in the letter and press release, the venue has “generated 96 calls to 911, 43 complaints to 311, and 40 complaint reports, including serious violent crimes.” Despite the consistent pattern, enforcement outcomes have been described to be “limited,” prompting concerns about persistent safety risks to the community.
The Council Members are calling for “a coordinated, multi-agency review” involving the NYPD and other relevant agencies, and are urging the NYSLA to “pursue suspension and potential revocation of the establishment’s liquor license if violations are confirmed.”
In response, local officials and community leaders have repeatedly raised concerns about Amadeus Nightclub, which has been flagged by Queens Community Board 4 as sustaining “a longstanding history of issues,” as stated in a press release.
Wong and Krishnan emphasized that swift action is essential to restore quality of life for nearby constituents.
NYSLA officials said that while the entity does not issue comments on investigations or complaints, all complaints received are examined by the Enforcement Bureau and appropriate measures will be taken.
As of press time, the NYC Sheriff’s Office has not responded to a request for comment.
