Last month we reported that the Parks Department pushed back the opening of the Grand Slope Staircase by a full year — until September 2025 — even though residents complained that it looked fully complete, and the city admitted it was “90%” complete.
We urged residents here and on social media to contact the Park’s Department, and the city may have caved under pressure, because they took the fence down and it os fully open. They also added two benches and plated 3 trees.
Well done, Elmhurst!
